 Sports fans! Softball Austin presents their annual Texas Shootout Softball Tournament!
Labor Day Weekend is already a great time to be in Austin. Last Splash, Labor Day Parties, and now the Texas Shootout. Featuring gay softball teams from around the country, this annual tournament is not only a fun event to watch, it's all for a great cause.
This year, all profits from the tournament will be donated to the Hill Country Ride for AIDS.
Join local softball teams, like Austin Force, the Bat Boys, Thunder, Oilcan's Chaos, Love Monkeys, and others as they battle it out with some of the top softball teams in the nation. The Dallas Buli Boys are back again this year to defend their D Division Title. (Check out a great write up of the BuliBoys in the new online sports mag Sports Out Loud.) While you're hanging out around Kreig Fields, don't forget to check out the A Division team, Dallas Fuel! These guys are top notch!
Information on the tournament, teams participating, and charity can all be found on their tournament website. So if you have some free time over the Labor Day weekend, take a bit to come down to Kreig Fields and cheer on the locals (or meet a hot softball player?)!
Also, don't forget to check out Austin's own gay league at SoftballAustin.org for information on joining one of the many teams in the Austin league. The fall season starts soon!
